There are dozens of listings and most of them are the same three itineraries under different names. Here is what actually differs between them, ranked by who each one suits — not by who pays us most.

The default answer for a first visit. Twenty minutes down the coast to the Antonine Baths and Byrsa Hill with a licensed guide, then free time in the village. It is affordable, it is short, and it leaves the rest of your day untouched — which is exactly what most people actually want.
If you are here for Sidi Bou Said rather than for Carthage, take this instead. Five hours in the village with a guide who can decode the doors and the mashrabiya, plus the artisan workshops and a proper terrace stop. No other listing gives the village this much room.
The maximum-coverage option: the Bardo’s Roman mosaics, the Tunis medina, ancient Carthage and Sidi Bou Said in one well-sequenced day. Long, and worth it if this is your only full day in Tunisia. Check the inclusions — lunch and site tickets are sometimes extras.
The village at seven in the evening is a different place from the village at noon: the coaches have gone, the whitewash turns apricot and the terraces light their lanterns. Runs from the Hammamet resorts, so it is the easy pick if you are based on the Cap Bon coast.
The same four landmarks as the classic full day, privately. Once there are three or four of you the cost per head closes on the group tours, and you get to decide whether the Bardo gets ninety minutes or three hours.
The one that gets you off the street and onto the water: paddleboard or kayak out of the marina below the village, with the whole white cliff above you. A genuinely good antidote to a hot afternoon in the lanes, and the best photographs of the headland come from out there.
For a first visit, the half-day Carthage and Sidi Bou Said tour from Tunis — it covers the two things everyone comes for, costs the least and takes the least time. If the village itself is your reason for coming, take the five-hour village visit instead.
From three people upwards, usually yes. The per-person gap narrows fast, and a private day lets you skip the fixed timings — which matters most at the Bardo and at sunset in the village.
Absolutely. The TGM train links both to Tunis for a few hundred millimes and a single ticket covers all the Carthage sites. A guide buys you the explanation, not the access.
